What is a bail bond?

A bail bond is technically called a "surety bond", a contractual undertaking guaranteed by a state licensed bail bondsman who is backed by an insurance company. Usually, a friend, relative, attorney or defendant will contact a bail bond company by phone. The bail agent guarantees to the court that the bail agent would pay the full amount of the bond if the defendant fails to appear for their scheduled court appearances. The bail bond companies will collect basic information about the situation, such as where is the detainee being held, how long have they been there, what are the charges, address of the person held, do they work, etc. The bail company will take care of the bond.

What is the cost of bail bond?

In most of the states, including California, the cost of a bail bond is 10% of the bail. Each state sets their rates and the rates are non-negotiable. There are no hidden fees or taxes for a bail bond.
NOTE:  Any bail bond agent who is ready to offer less rates in California are illegal.

How is the bail amount set?

Bail amounts in California are set on a county level by judges. Annually, the county judges review the bail schedule and publish it for public and law enforcement use. Public safety is always the first consideration when setting bail amounts. The more severity the crime, the higher the bail amount.

How do I pay for the bail bond?

When arranging the bail, companies take payment in advance of posting a bond for the release of a detainee. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Can I pay the full amount of bail to the jail?

Yes, you can pay directly pay the amount to jail. In order to post cash bail, an individual should check with the bail clerk to verify forms of payment accepted in an individual jurisdiction as different courts may have other options or restrictions. To be released on cash bail, an individual must post the full amount of the bail with the court in the form of cash or cashiers check.

How much percentage do you offer?

Sorry to say that we won't offer any percentage. Bail amounts in California are set on a county level by judges. The cost of a bail bond is 10% of the bail in most of the states.

What is the procedure to bail someone out?

During the initial phone consultation, most companies will ask for information about your situation in order to determine the risk involved in the bond and begin the approval process. The bail bond companies will collect basic information about the situation, such as where is the detainee being held, how long have they been there, what are the charges, address of the person held, do they work, etc. The bail company will take care of the bond.

Will your company handle bail bonds for any jails in US?

At present we are handling bail bonds only in California. In future, you may expect our services in other parts of the US. From start to finish, most bail bonds are completed in 1-2 hours.

Do you offer financing?

We do not charge a fee for financing. We do understand that you might not be able to pay the amount at a time. We will work out payments that you can afford. We offer no collateral bail bonds to qualified applicants and accept cosigners.

What happens if the defendant is not bailed out?

If the defendant is not bailed out, the defendant will remain in custody until the matter has been resolved in court.
